Happy Halloween

At 8:10 pm Violet is dead asleep and Odie, Matt, and I are watching the Laker game and passing out candy. Matt wants to campaign for Halloween to be on the last Saturday of the month... What a splendid idea right? He's always full if them, but I'm certain he's not the first parent to wish for Halloween on a weekend :) We're excited for next year and Violet walking from house to house saying 'trick or treat' :) These little kiddos are too cute! I love passing out candy! The only downfall is that I end up eating a lot of it in the process :)

V loves Peas

So it seems to be a trend with Violet loving sweet veggies! We tried some homemade peas yesterday and she was in heaven :)

Halloween Parties Take 2 & 3

We had 2 more Halloween parties this weekend... 1 at Matt's work on Friday and another at a friends house on Saturday.

Matt's work throws this amazing party with food, games, and a gift for the kids!!! This year was the first year we participated since we actually have a little one :) Violet had lots of fun visiting Matt at work and they did a fantastic job :) I can't wait till next year and years after when she starts to understand and have fun :) My favorites? The homemade cupcake pops by one of the kids, seeing the adults decked out in costumes, and seeing the other kids play together :)

On Saturday we went to our friends the Enjem's for their yearly party (which people have come to expect). We all dressed up as a family and had a ball :) There were 2 other babies there: one of Violets friends who is 10 days younger and another baby who is 8 months. That 8 month old baby AMAZED Matt and I because it was crawling around, pulling to stand, and even taking a few steps! She's a little one with 2 older sisters. I'm not so sure our chunky girl will be there in a month... She'll get there, but maybe at 9-10 months :) It was amazing to see though and braced us for what's to come... NON-stop monitoring so she doesn't fall off an edge, eat poop, and get into too much mischief!

We can't wait :)

We did it!

Matt and I have lived in our current home for over 3 years... And everyday at about 3-3:30 we hear and see the creepiest ice cream truck/van that ever existed drive around our neighborhood. Hmmmm... And until today we NEVER would have EVER approached it... But what if he was already stopped? What if there was a line of people waiting for an ice cream? What if we were on a lovely walk and just happened to be there at the exact right moment? Well... A Big Stick (Matt's favorite) and a Big Pop is exactly what you can expect from the Harrisons :) Yuuummmm!

Weekend fun

This weekend was glorious! I spent all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with Violet and we had so much fun as a family! Starting with Friday evening I went and got a pedicure with some girlfriends then we met our husbands and babies for dinner :) Violet was a little crabby and cross by 9:15 though since it was a bit past her bedtime! She's such a trooper though :)

Then Saturday morning we went to breakfast at Matt's favorite place and then headed to the pumpkin patch! Violet was a teensy bit over stimulated and just stared at everything. As soon as we got in the car it was like she processed what had just happened and she started talking and giggling up a storm! I imagine she was saying, "we saw HUGE pumpkins! White ones, orange ones, colorful ones, tiny ones, bumpy ones, weird shaped ones, and HAY! Everywhere!! And I got to sit ON pumpkins, take pictures with them, take pictures behind wooden cutouts... And the animals!! I got to go INTO a petting zoo! Although, daddy kept screeching and saying 'this is my nightmare! This is my nightmare!'... I guess it was smelly and poop was everywhere... so I understand :) It was awesome though!!!" Something like that seemed to come from all her jibber jabber once we returned to the quiet-clean-safe car :)

THEN uncle Jason came!!! Now our little Violet is quite the happy girl, but she is pretty watchful and 'sizes' people up she doesn't know so well before opening up her gummy grin. But with uncle Jason she was all smiles :) Matt spent some quality time with his boyfriend all weekend (I like to tease him and call Jason that) :) It was so nice seeing Jason and we really miss him and Kelsey (they used to live 15 min away in Seal Beach, but now they live in Chicago). Dinner Saturday night was delicious! We ate at a favorite place - Magic Lamp :) We loooove this little Lebanese place :) Jason stayed with us through Monday morning and we miss him already :)

On Sunday we had a fun Halloween party at a friends house :) Ill have to have someone send me pictures of all the babies in their costumes :) It was a lot of fun seeing all the babies together :) I can't wait till they're old enough to really really play :)

Monday was Fun-Day for Violet and I :) We just hung out all day and relaxed with Odie :) We took Odie to his BFF Oliver's house for a play date... Then papa came over to hang out for a bit :) Then Violet went to her very first daddy hockey game! She had lots of fun watching, but wasn't so sure about the scary masks :)

Ps- Aaaaand my best friend Sara had her baby boy Thomas Friday night!!! 9 lbs 6 oz and 21.5 inches long :) I can't wait to meet him!

Cooler weather + birthday earrings

There's nothing better than a special birthday package with earrings inside :) Well... Maybe the cooler weather rivals that :) Violet gets to wear warmer clothes! Yay!!!

7 months

10/17/12... Today marks another milestone! And yes, hitting 7 months is amazing... But so is crackin her first tooth!!! That's right, Violet is getting her 2 bottom teeth! The bottom left tooth snuck out tonight and the right side is inching up! Teeth are so exciting, but here are some other 7 month Violet treats:

* Sitting as sturdy as a rock
* Rolling... Over and over and over... All. Night. Long.
* Giggling and squealing hysterically
* Somehow scooting all around on her tummy to get the toys she wants
* Wearing a size 6 month shirt and size12 month bottoms = one awesome butt and pair of thighs!
* Developing her "favorite" toys... Like Rosita who ALWAYS makes her smile... Kind of like Odie

We as a family fall more and more in love with her every day. We love hearing her laugh and seeing her smile :)
