Pictures

Just a few from this morning :) Matt took them so I got to sneak in :)

Monday

We had a fantastic day :) After grocery shopping, Aunty Mel had the day off and came to visit! We had lunch and then a nice long walk :) Even though her schedule is always so busy with work, she somehow manages to do it all. I think I need a lesson in time management :)

Grandma's House

While I was at a work seminar all day Saturday, Violet got to go to Redlands and hang out with grandma and GG (Matt was working with papa all day). Violet had lots of fun and grandma has LOTS of toys to play with! And cousins! Let's not forget them :) Grandma sent me great pictures of Violet playin and having a good time :) It was cooler in Redlands so she even got to go on 2 walks! After my course I picked up Odie from home and he and I drove out to Redlands for dinner and to take Violet home while Matt continued to work :) It was a long, but really great day :)

The Rash Saga

After my last post last week, Violets rash got much worse. She also vomited a bunch of yellow gross stuff Monday night which we didn't find out till I went in to get her ready for daycare on Tuesday. Poor thing laid in vomit all night till it was crusty in her hair! Tuesday morning I was really worried that she may have a stomach bug so Matt came home from work, I left for work, and we moved up her doctors appointment from Thursday to Tuesday. While I was at work, violet refused to eat, so Matt called me to come home (then he went BACK to work). I took her to the doctor who said her rash was definitely a contact allergy, but that it's hard to know what from. He also said that she may have a small tummy bug unless its also from what she ate. She ended up only vomiting that 1x though so after a couple days, Matt and I thought that maybe she just had a giant allergy to something she ate and vomited to get it out. But who knows :)

So this rash of hers... Despite mid day tubs at daycare, keeping the areas dry and aquaphored, and dressing her loosely, her rash would NOT leave after 4 days! It started to get slightly better, and her face rash kind of went away, but her neck rash wouldn't leave. On Sunday we gave her some rice cereal again and then she broke out in a huge neck rash AGAIN! And she was chewing on some wooden blocks during a play date which turned her face red, too. This time I made an ointment concoction our pediatrician told us to use if it did't go away (lotrimin & hydrocortisone). Worked like a charm! Within 24 hrs it's almost completely gone!

The Verdict = Violet had contact dermatitis which then turned into a yeast infection under her chin and neck. Fix? Magic ointment :)

Sensitive skin

Poor baby girl broke out in a rash over the weekend... The amazing thing about having a sister who is a pediatrician is the ability to text pictures to her at all hours of the day. We think it may be contact dermatitis for a number of reasons. We've narrowed the culprit down to these 'new' things that may have triggered it: (1) pears (2) banana (3) a metal necklace she was chewing on at a BBQ (4) heat and the sun. It just looks so darn painful and poor V was a little fussy today :( I made an appointment with Dr. M for Thursday in case it doesn't clear up by then. Oh baby girl... I hope you grow out of your sensitive skin...

Ps- I also posted some happier pictures :) I took her to My Gym today and got some great video of her in a swing and bouncer - I wish I knew how to post those :) She had so much fun, but it's REALLY pricey! I'm not sure we'll sign up (the first class was complimentary).
