Violet is asleep right now and has been for the past couple hrs (the flight is nearly 6 hrs long). Thank heavens :) My mama recommended that I bring a pillow for her to sleep on the plane so I went and bought one on clearance at Target ($1.97 if you can believe it)! Get this! It's machine washable and dryable... You just have to dry it with 'clean tennis balls'... Whaaaaa?!?! Who just has a set of clean tennis balls lying around? Not me :) When we dried it, it got SUPER puffy :)
As Matt was taking us to the airport (my sis included), I contemplated NOT bringing it because a pillow is just so bulky. Well hot darn am I glad I brought it because I'm pretty sure I'd have a TERRIBLE case of carpal tunnel when we landed (our chubba cheeks also has chubba legs). I'll have to thank my mama... Profusely :)
Violet was a little fussy after we hit altitude and seemed to have a dirty diaper (we JUST switched her to a size 2 diaper last night after a horrific blowout through her clothes and onto her car seat yesterday afternoon)... But let me ask you this: have you ever waited for the airplane lavatory only to walk into the smell of a poop bomb that went off?! I could only laugh and V didn't seem to mind :)
So here's a neat story! We have friends who are on the SAME flight as we are! Stacie, Steve, and little man Parker who just turned 1 yr last Saturday! Parker has come by with his daddy a few times to say hello, but miss V is still sleeping :) He's super cute and social, always smiling, waving, and saying 'hi'! Maybe Violet will have an older boyfriend when she grows up? Wink* Wink* Coincidentally, Parker has a 1st birthday party in Kailua on Saturday that we had planned to attend for a wee bit :)
I'm excited to land and start this adventure!
The first flight is always the wildest. Well at least from what I experienced with Chloe. It looks like you guys made it through really well. Violet looks so darling in her little sweater. I'm glad you like it. I couldn't resist it!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be taking her on ANOTHER trip! To Iowa this time for my best friend's baby shower the first week in August :) We'll see how that one goes! It's a little shorter of a flight, but I'll be by myself! I'll have to talk to you to see if you have any mommy tips :)
