I step away...

... For one second! Looks like someone is ready to eat! Violet is so interested in food! I can't wait for her first bite :) She really wanted our salads and got really upset when we took her out of her bumbo. Soon baby girl... Soon :)

Food Challenge!

We lost our ONLY male therapist at Termino (my work location) while I was on maternity leave. This guy, Evan, was one of Matt's friends and his wife, Kim, was a speech therapist at work, too. Both good friends and we miss them dearly.

In memory of Evan, we cleaned out some popsicles from our work fridge... OLD popsicles! One batch from Evans "man shower" we threw for him March 2011 before his wedding to Kim... The other which mysteriously showed up while I was on leave... But expired in 2010!!! Yes... We taste challenged! Not bad actually!

Aquarium of the Pacific

We had a glorious day today! Aquarium? Check! CPK? Check! 31 Flavors? Check! An awesome time with family? Check!

It was quite the busy day at the aquarium, but very worth it :) I LOVE aquariums! Now, not to downplay zoos, but aquariums just win my heart :) Sea otters, penguins, sharks, sting rays, touch and feel tanks, seals, FISH, octopus (octopi???), crabs, sea horses, eels, the list goes on and on :) Maybe the best part was catching my nephew drinking/rubbing his face in the sting ray tank (it was blazing hot)... Or watching my nieces run around the water play area together... Or having my eldest niece take hold of my hand to watch the fish in their tanks... Or watching my Violet try to track a sea creature :) Just a fantastic time :) Violet was tuckered out by the end of the day :)

We bought an annual pass for 2 adults (children under 3 yrs are free) so we'll be frequent visitors of the amazing aquarium! I can't wait to take V to the Monterey aquarium someday!

7 Ounces

1+1+1+2+2=7 ounces! Violet took 5 ounces at daycare today (7 hrs there) and then 2 for Matt at home :) In his words she "crushed" it :) I was at my CPR class when he sent me a text with the picture below (I'm guessing you'll know which one) :) More and more everyday is my hope :)

Tonight Odie was a hoot and kept crawling into my lap and laying down. Nothin like a 45 lb pup who thinks he's 10 lbs :) But... In his defense... I sort of trained him to do that I guess :)

First Day Back

Today was my first day back to work! Meli got me a beautiful plant, flyer, and card :) It was really strange how being there felt a little bit like deja vu all day long. Like I hadn't been gone very long... Or like I wasn't even pregnant and didn't even have a baby... Like it was all a splendid dream :)

Even though I didn't see any patients (because of the whole CPR thing), it was very busy... Lots of catching up, especially since I went on leave 5 hrs ahead of schedule and left some unfinished business. The best part was getting to work without computer access since my account went dormant due to inactivity... Awesome right? Well, I found a way around it and still got work done :)

Violet did well at her 2nd day of daycare. I picked her up at 3:45 today and each day puts me more and more at ease because of how amazing Veronica is and how social our little Violet is. She was so happy and even took a little more by bottle (as in a half an ounce more, which is still a win in my book) :) I even got home early enough to cook dinner while violet watched from her bumbo seat (Parmesan chicken, steamed kale, and rice) :)

Ps- Odie did great all by himself today :) He seems to love not being penned up all day and just naps :) We took him on a walk after dinner :) I love him so much :)
